Karen is the co-founder and CEO of the award-winning, STEM-specialist media company, Refraction Media, which publishes the Careers with STEM magazines and website. Careers with STEM aims to inspire young Australians to pursue courses and careers with a STEM foundation.

Karen has worked in the media industry for two decades in magazines such as Cosmopolitan and for the Austereo radio network. She’s worked with hundreds of clients to help them develop campaigns and communication strategies that make an impact and achieve results.

In 2015, Refraction Media won the award for Best Small Publishing, beating sports and fashion publications (and is currently a finalist for the 2018 Publishing Company of the Year!).

In 2016 she was a finalist for ‘Publishing Executive of the Year’ and in 2015 a finalist in the ‘Telstra Business Women’s Awards’.
